Jealous, no? The main exception to this schedule is our weekly home group gathering on Wednesday nights, starting at 7pm. However, we never arrive until 8pm and then only stay until 9pm. Our weeks pretty much run together and we stay tired most of the time.
But occasionally, we get to do something really fun!! The nice thing about living in LA and having the jobs we do, we often get free tickets to events and we always clear our schedules for those! We've attended dinners, concerts, musicals and many times with VIP tickets that made us look a LOT more important than we really are. {One time, a manager of a venue overheard a bouncer treat us a smidge unkindly, and he came over to us, apologized profusely, then bought us drinks... all because he knew where I worked. I just smiled, thanked him, and did NOT mention that I worked in the mailroom.}
Tonight is an example: not free, but still a fun event. My wonderful boss organized a Haiti fundraiser at the House of Blues. On the set list: Brett Dennen (love him!), Ryan Bingham (just won a Golden Globe, probably will win the Oscar), Colbie Caillat, Meiko, Kate Voegele, and some others. Every penny goes to the Real Medicine Foundation, which is doing some fantastic work in Haiti right now. A rare mid-week outing for the Maxwells, but it will be fun!
