HD-DSLRs

For those who hang out with me they know that I am very excited about this hddslr revolution that is currently happening. The movie industry was change by the RED and now is being changed by Canon.

I love reading about photographers who are making the leap to hddslr with amazing results. One of my favorite bloggers/photographer/filmmakeris phillip bloom from London. He has a great website and fantastic blog. http://www.philipbloom.co.uk/

Philip is currently in the US and is teaching a masterclass here in LA. I sadly cannot make it but he is also sponsoring a get together at Venice beach and I might just stop by. If anyone else is interested and wants to attend with me please let me know.

Will Ferrel & Friends!

Lots of fun at this comedy show/benefit at the huge Nokia center. Katie gifted me these tickets weeks ago and we had alot of fun seeing Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly host a night of hilarious and strange comedians, including Nick Kroll, Audrey Plaza, Rob Riggle and Tenacious D.

(katie edit-- how creepy do I look in this pic?)

A Wonderful Saturday Afternoon

Katie, Barkley and I are watching a classic film today: The Apartment.

It is a really good film and I love watching it with those that I love. We're just one big happy family.

Barkley's fence buddies!

Seperated by three fences, these three are joined as friends.

Valentines from mom&dad

Just received a valentine package from my parents. Looks like my mom made valentine cookies just like my Mano--her mother--would make. So so sweet. My parents also sent Barkley a new friend. I love them and miss them.

Hash House A Go Go

Katie and I are waiting an hour and a half for a table at San Diego's fantastic Hash House A Go Go restaurant! Just a little place with one of the finest breakfasts I've ever had!

Granted, it's no Dixie Pig but it easily stands on it's own.

Katie and I've have enjoyed our short weekend here in San Diego. Last year we stayed at a hotel in the heart of the gaslamp district and this year we find ourselves in the nearby town of La Jolla (pronounced: la hoya).

This morning Katie said something that made me so happy... She was packing her backpack(which is unusual because she usually packs in a big bulky suitcase) and she commented that this makes her think of us backpacking through Europe one day!!! I was so excited to hear this! I love backpacking and I love Europe and I love Katie... HOME RUN!

Hopefully one day we can make this happen.

An Early Valentines!

I love you Katie!

Parking 3 blocks away

Staring earlier this week I had to start parking 3 blocks away from our home due to some kind of pipe repair. It's a real bummer trying to find a spot...

...at 3:30 in the morning!

Ooo la la!

Now that I have stated my thoughts about Valentines... how about some fun Vday goodies!

{Gift ideas}

Tom's Shoes

What gal (or guy) doesn't want a new pair of shoes? AND when you get a pair, a sweet child in Africa gets a new pair, too! Love it!

Life Is Good

Pretty much anything from Life Is Good, one of my favorite brands, is going to be a winner. But this runner's tee in particular would make a lovely Vday gift.

Kitchen Items

Perhaps you're a practical gift-giver. That's ok- I love practical gifts! That means I can use my own money on less-practical things. Consider these juice glasses- totally practical, yet super fun! Did I mention they match my kitchen?

DIY Valentine Cards

If you are looking for a way to spice up your Valentines cards this year, this is an easy DIY project. I think you could really get your creative juices flowing with this idea. (And please send me one if you make them!)

Cookies!

When I was growing up, my mom would make THE most beautiful Valentine cookies! Seriously, I haven't seen anything in any bakery that compares to hers. And they actually tasted good, too! I hate when cookies don't live up to their decor. If I were your Valentine, I would accept a handmade cookie anyday. This particular design reminds me of the Sex & The City movie posters from last summer.

Art

Make your sweetheart some art! Or order a personalized piece from an Etsy artist. I think this one in particular is very cute.

***Guess what?!? I saw a sneak peek of our new blog design today... you. will. love it.***

Snowcapped Mountains

It's sometimes hard to believe that we live in southern California because as I sit here in the Costco gas line I am surrounded by snowcapped mountains. The very same mountains that enclose the famous San Fernando valley.

Yesterday on the set of wipeout we encountered another verrainy storm. When the storm ended and the clouds faded away I looked up and noticed that even the tall hills around us had patches of snow.

All this talk of snow really makes me want to hit the slopes. The last time I went skiing I was with my inlaws but Katie an I weren't even engaged yet. I was so excited because this was katie's first time and I had dreams of us crisscrossing the slopes together but life went in a different direction as it so often does. Katie, in fact, had a horrible time in ski school and developed a high fever which pretty much ruined the fun for her. We often talk about trying skiing again but now we just need to find the time.

Life is good.
